how we work with you

Every project starts with a conversation. Here's what to expect when you work with us, from first contact to a space that finally feels right.

Studio Emi is a residential interior design studio based in Ontario. We design spaces that feel considered, layered, and quietly distinctive. Places you want to spend time in. Whether you're starting from scratch or refining what's already there, we work closely with you to bring your vision to life with craft and intention.

rates

initial deposit

Once the service offer has been accepted, we require a 30% deposit to start your project. This deposit will be deducted from your first and subsequent invoices, if necessary.

invoicing

An invoice will be emailed to you every 2-3 weeks for work completed on your project during this period. Invoices are payable on receipt by Interac transfer or cheque.

fixed fees

Every Studio Emi service is priced as a fixed fee, agreed in writing before any work begins. You know what you're getting and what it costs before we start.

additional work

Any work beyond what's included in your package, such as extra site visits, additional revisions, extended project management, or sourcing support, is billed at $200/hr CAD. We'll always confirm scope and cost with you in writing before proceeding.

travel expenses

Travel expenses may apply if your project is outside the Greater Toronto/Oakville area. Please note that no travel plans will be made without your consent and most meetings can be held virtually, thus avoiding travel costs.
